PurposeGH Axis / Fat metabolism
MechanismThe C-terminal lipolytic domain of human growth hormone, isolated from the rest of the molecule so that fat-metabolism effects are separated from GH growth signalling.
EffectsStudied for lipolysis without the insulin-resistance and glucose-intolerance seen with full-length growth hormone.
DosingNo human dose established.
Bottom lineFrequently confused with AOD-9604, which is the one that was actually trialled — and which failed its Phase IIb endpoint.
Not a dose · what the literature contains instead

Its modified analogue AOD-9604 used 1 mg/day in 12- and 23-week obesity trials; those produced about 2.6–2.8 kg of weight loss against 0.8 kg on placebo, but the Phase IIb trial missed its primary endpoint and development for obesity stopped around 2007.

Cautions & interactions

No human data on the unmodified fragment. Injection-site reactions reported. Do not read AOD-9604 trial results as evidence for this molecule.

No human interaction data for the unmodified fragment.

CV 2 of 5 — Unlike full-length GH, neither the fragment nor AOD-9604 impaired carbohydrate metabolism in study. No cardiovascular outcomes data.
