Cautions & interactions

The FDA has not approved glutathione for skin lightening and has warned against intravenous use for that purpose. Reported harms include anaphylaxis, hepatotoxicity, renal and neurological toxicity, and Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Shifting melanin type may raise sun-induced skin-cancer risk in previously protected skin.

No systematic interaction data for injectable use.

CV 1 of 5 — No cardiovascular outcomes data. Infusion reactions include chest tightness.
