PurposeMetabolic / Weight loss
MechanismSingle molecule with both GLP-1 and amylin receptor agonism, in subcutaneous and oral formulations.
EffectsIn a Phase Ib/IIa trial, 22% average weight reduction at the 20 mg weekly subcutaneous dose over 36 weeks against roughly 2% weight gain on placebo — and weight loss had not plateaued at week 36.
DosingNo human dose established.
Bottom lineThe most striking Phase 2 weight-loss figure in the class so far, and still an investigational drug.
Not a dose · what the literature contains instead

Phase Ib/IIa used up to 20 mg once weekly subcutaneously for 36 weeks; a Phase 3 programme was planned to begin in early 2026. Not available outside a trial.

Cautions & interactions

Investigational. GI effects consistent with the GLP-1 class. Long-term safety is not established, and the Phase 3 programme has not read out.

Expected to follow the GLP-1 class: caution with insulin and sulfonylureas, and delayed gastric emptying affecting oral drug absorption. Not formally studied.

CV 2 of 5 — Weight and HbA1c reductions are risk-factor improvements, not outcomes. No cardiovascular outcomes data exists.
